Artist Description Heidi Remick, violist, began her musical studies in South Carolina at the age of 6. She is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, and Rice University\'s Shepherd School of Music. Her major teachers have included John Graham and Karen Ritscher. She has performed in master class for violists Karen Tuttle and Thomas Riebl and in chamber music coachings with the Ying Quartet, the Miami String Quartet, James Dunham, John Kimura Parker, and Norman Fischer, among many other notable musicians.
Since relocating to Northern Virginia, she has become a regular substitute with the Richmond Symphony, where she plays most of their season each year. In addition, Heidi is has been engaged to perform as a substitute with the Virginia and Maryland Symphony Orchestras, and as a freelance violist at leading concert venues in Washington, D.C., including the Kennedy Center Concert Hall and the National Cathedral. In 2008, Heidi was invited, along with musicians from North and South America, Europe and Asia, to perform as a member of the World Symphony Orchestra in Seoul and on a five city tour of South Korea.
An avid chamber musician, Heidi has performed at the Kent/Blossom, Chautauqua, and International Festival Institute at Round Top music festivals, and has been a guest artist with members of the National Symphony Orchestra in their Prelude Series on the Kennedy Center\'s Millennium Stage.
